It's stifling here, in my little bit of Kent. Any physical exertion, and it feels like I'm trying to breathe soup. It's bloody warm too. We had a couple of cracks of thunder last night, but nothing serious; it was just hot and sweaty.

The seaside village of Manston, next to Ramsgate and Broadstairs, saw just under 50mm of rain recorded in under two hours, the Met Office said. Kent typically sees 52mm of rain over the entire month of June.
As the extreme weather moved north across the UK, Llysdinam – a hamlet in Powys, Wales – received the greatest deluge in the country with 58.2mm of rain overnight. It reached Kent at around 10pm on Friday evening.
