LS6 to LS7 with Naim streamer

Hi all, recently swapped out my Auralic DAC and streamer, for a New Classic Naim streamer. I had been using a pair of 2m LS6 speaker cables which sounded excellent with the Auralic. The Naim being a bit more of a 'weighty' sound, lends the LS6 towards being a bit less bright. I prefer music with less bass, just me, so my question is would LS7 give me that higher frequency sound I like? I'm about to sell the LS6 (ebay, I would offer them up on here but this is my first post and would I'm sure be frowned upon) which are fantastic cables, but not a perfect match now in my case. Can't swap them with NVA as I purchased them from a HiFi store in the last few months who supplies NVA gear.

I have experience with both cables, TISC (LS7) in the main system, upgraded from LS6 and LS6 in the second system. My experience is that both cables are neutral, LS7 being a bit more resolving, especially at the frequency extremes. I would suggest that the frequency imbalance you are experiencing stems from the new source.

What amp are you using?

What speakers are you using?

What interconnect cables are you using?

Does your DAC have different filters?

Hi late reply sorry all. NAP250 and NSC222, linked with a Vertere Redline XLR @ £800! Great cable lol. I loaned an Auralic Vega 2.2 which sounded great with the LS6’s as it’s quite harsh sounding compared to the Naim NSC222. I’m putting my LS6’s on ebay in the next couple of days, shame as they’re only 4 months old. Can’t trade back in with NVA as I bought from a hifi store. As soon as they’re sold I will make use of the try-out with NVA themselves see what the LS7’s are like.

Naim amps require a particular load from the speaker cable, regards inductance. With their own cables you always used to have to use lengths of 3.5 metres and above, for that reason. You should check with Naim if that applies to your own 250. It probably depends on when it was made.
