Downloading a photo, size limit?

I tried downloading a photo but got an error message that it was too large (not often a complaint that I receive).

What's the size limit?

I think I found it in the admin:

Maximum attachment file size is 1024kb

You don't need print quality images online, and all free image software has cropping and resizing.

But, if you want to display the larger file then you can always just link to your own hosting, as per the old site. Nearly everyone has some free hosting options: Google, Apple, Microsoft, Dell etc etc

I upload to Imgur, then download the image and attach. Imgur seems to compress the image. Nothing else works.

You could just link straight to imgur

It needs to be quick and easy or I can't be bothered!

But I have found a way. Have attached a couple of pics in the View from your listening chair thread, and that seems to have worked.

That doesn’t work for me. I get about a 5% success rate.

The only thing that seems to work faultlessly is, upload image to imgur, download that image from Imgur, directly link the downloaded image

Note: I’m using iPhone. If I’m on this site, it’s via my iPhone only.

I do the same via a Sansum tablet.

You can also easily upload larger images by linking to your own hosting (the same way you would do it at PFM):
