Footie - sing when you're winning!

Spurs tonight. Am hoping we score 10 and be at Chelski's heels.
To be in the frame is as good as it gets for excitement as a supporter, and we have been. 'Which is nice'. UTV.
(Two will do though) ;)

On the way home from Manchester after watching the mighty Shrimpers comeback last night against Rochdale, from 3-1 down on 73 minutes to 4-3 winners after extra time.

Having also bitten my nails all through Sunderland s injury time of extra time win against Coventry on Tuesday... I'm not sure I can take much more of this 🤣🤣⚽👍
Not quite "The Miracle Of Istanbul," but impressive by Sarf-end, all the same.;)

Well it would seem both the team and the manager have already downed tools and are playing like these games do not matter . Having already won the PL it is understandable but as a fan I want us to win . Not expecting anything from Mondays game against Brighton and think Liverpool may well get beat . Hope they get serious for the last game and make surebthey win to give home fans a good send off before they get presented with the trophy . Should be a good weekend for me as on the Saturday I am ggoing to see James Grant which will be very special as never seen him live before but own most of his albums .

I couldn't agree more about Liverpool easing off, but some of our so-called supporters have been annoying me even more with their "We've already won it, so nothing matters now" attitudes. I've been getting the hump with them on both Twatter and Bluesky. As far as I'm concerned, EVERY loss hurts, whatever the reason.

When a match is not consequential then its very rare to be able to find the extra determination that is sometimes required to win against a team that do need the points. Its not downing tools, its not even a conscious thing; you just can't replicate the jeopardy of having something at stake.

Sunderland lost their last 5 league games, and looked hopeless in the process. But once the money was on they found an exceptional effort against Coventry.

I have seen plenty of seasons when there was nothing left to play for in the last few matches. I would have been very happy if those 'dead rubbers' had been preceded by a title win.

Congrats to Spurs on beating Man U to win the UEFA League final last night, and special congrats to Son Heung-min, probably the only player I genuinely regret we never signed at Liverpool. I've always thought him to be a real class act.

Congratulations to Regis Le Bris and his Sunderland side. We look forward to beating you next season. :D

I, my son and grandson would have loved to have been there but living where we do we had no chance
of getting tickets!
Ironic that Watson scored the winner although the Ocado delivery lady who called at that time
was taken aback by the noise of us celebrating - she did pick her time to be greeted by “get in” shouts and hug’s all round !
A memorable day all round but even better for those who saw it live!

Both good days out in the company of thousands of fellow likeminded supporters.
You can’t beat the live experience for passion and excitement whether it be Sport or going to see a band!

A great win for the defending champions - i.e. us, England U21 - tonight. We beat tournament favourites, Spain, by three goals to one, and will now face the Netherlands on Wednesday.

It'll be live on Channel 4 again. K.O. time tba

Well last nights game was not in the script . Man City have been improving game by game and won allbthree played so far . New signings and the rereturn of Rodri were seeming to resolve the issues of last season . Then on paper a good knock out round draw against Saudi league winners . Dominant first half and agead , but the failure of last season to convert chances was evident . In the second half the Saudi,s really stepped up the physical pressure and attacked on the counter with real pace . As with last season City were just not able to match this and they were opened up time and again . They concede two quick goals and have to catch up . They do equalise and send the game in to extra time but lose out to a late goal . What little confidence they had rebuilt is now gone , they split up for probably four weeks and then return with little time for pre season . Pep now has to find a way to pick them up and stop them being so vulnerable to pace .
