Like all good hi-fi threads, I'll start this one off with a moan:

My B&W Px7 S2 headphones have started coming apart at the seams ...literally.

The headband fabric started coming away from the band first, so I got a cheap zip-up cover, which, while not winning any beauty prizes, does the job perfectly. Now, one of the earpads is splitting. After a bit of a trawl through Google, I've discovered that neither fault is exactly a rarity with that model.

A pair of Sennheiser Momentum 4 headphones is on its way to me
:D
...via eVri. :poop:

Yes, I know I could have just bought new earpads, and, indeed, I have ordered a pair, but why waste the opportunity to get new cans and have a spare set for the telly too?🤣

I have the Sennheiser Momentum 4's. I thought their noise cancelling was by far the best (in the shop environment, anyway) among those I tried. The sound is quite good and likable; I suppose it should be compared to wired headphones costing less. The sound of my (former top-end) Grado GS 2000e's with long, heavy, impractical wire into a little Fiio dongle is so much better, so I often prefer that arrangement at home after all. I often use a clothes peg to fasten the wire to my clothes, and have some of the wire around my neck.

I have had the Grado GS 2000e's for nearly ten years and they are my end game for at home. Not that I listen through headphones in the house. It is always in the garden and there has been a lot of that in recent months. The recessed top end of my original Chord Mojo compliments them.
