Veteran jazz singer Dame Cleo Laine dies aged 97​

She had a four-octave vocal range and the ability to perform everything from Schoenberg to a Spike Milligan hit about a man with too many tonsils.

One critic said that she was one of Britain's two great contributions to jazz - the other being gin.

RIP Ian Ellis, who died earlier this week. Ian played bass for Savoy Brown during the 1975-78 period and covered the lead vocal responsibilities on the album ‘Savage Return’.

 
Joe Bugner, the British heavyweight who took Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier the distance, has died at the age of 75. RIP, Joe.
