Something Special

A very recent track we heard Damien Rice - Women Like A Man, a fantastic demo track, it can be found on Qobuz. Does your equipment give that aggresssiveness, and feel for the music?

picked raspberries & green beans during the summer of '65 (age 12) and bought my first record player , a massive, suitcase-like GE Trimline 300 with the US$60 I earned.
That's the summer that "Like A Rolling Stone" was released
my first record purchase was
Bob Dylan's Highway 61 Revisited

Further to my DCF post a combination of not having anything to play records on and higher education mean’t I didn’t buy an album until Roxy Music’s “ For Your Pleasure” which includes my all time favourite track “Editions of You”.
A guy in my hall played the Hollies “ He ain’t heavy he’s my brother” continually at all hours until we knicked his sole Wharfedale speaker.
I have unfortunately hated that song ever since - I’m now 72!

This is a single track I love I play it to friends and I just do not see the same light in their eyes . So I have to accept it must be me . Artist - James Grant , Album - My Thrawn Glory , Track - Jaquellines Shoes . Firstly I need to confess I love James voice deep liquid and filled with nuance , then the beautiful syncopated strings just make me ache . I got very lucky a few weeks ago I found out that James is playing the Philharmonic Music Room in Liverpool and got two tickets . My concert going has dropped off because I need a venue that is seated and many of the artists I want to see only play stand up venues , so 24 th May I get to see James and fingers crossed he may sing this . Give it a try and listen to it let everyone know if you like it and even if you do not .

After my first marriage hit the rocks in my early thirties I was determined to stay a bachelor, loved my mates, motorbikes and music way too much to let another woman spoil it.
Then I met Kelly out of the blue on social web site back in 2007. After talking via a chat room, then on the phone we met on a first date and I was smitten, completely.
We've been together eighteen years and married for sixteen years, had our ups and downs with health and family but are still going strong. I drag her all around the UK and Europe on the back of my motor bike and she has to listen to my music which mostly she doesn't like and for those little things I can't thank her enough.
Any-hoo after that first date riding home back to Darwen from Fleetwood I had my iPod blasting out New Rose by The Damned and me singing my lungs out all the way home.
So for me, it's still that special track and every time I listen to it it always reminds me of Kelly and that first date.
