Problem accessing my NAS

All of a sudden, more often than not, I am unable to access the ripped CDs and downloads on my My Cloud NAS. I was always able to play them via the BubbleUp app connecting to LMS via Twonky. This is through the DNLA option on the Sonicorbitor app which links to my Sonore streamers. I am not able to access the NAS via the Sonicorbitor Squeezer option, although there are no problems playing Qobuz and Radio Paradise through this option.
I do not know what is wrong and how the issue can be resolved. Is there another app I could use to connect My Cloud to the streamers? The situation is still the same with Mconnect. The worse case scenario is that my NAS is long in the tooth and needs replacing. I have had it for over ten years. But the only problem is accessing stored music so I think it could be OK. Grateful for suggestions. Thanks

The problem seems to have rectified itself. I suspect the issue was the Internet/WiFi connection.

My NAS is still supported by WD My Cloud but this will expire at the end of next year, less than 15 years afte I bought it. Built in obsolescence to get you to buy a new one.

Hi! That sounds frustrating. Sometimes older NAS devices start having compatibility issues with newer streaming apps or updates. You might want to try apps like VLC or Plex to see if they can connect more reliably. Also, checking your NAS firmware for updates could help. If it still struggles, it might be time to consider a replacement, but trying alternative apps is a good first step.

I had to do a Factory Reset by on my modem last week which meant that my NAS got a different IP number and all of my streamers had to be reattached to it and the internal libraries rebuilt.

Can be irritating. Tidal is easier.

The issue with my NAS is continuing and I think it might need replacing. Open to suggestions from those who know more about this than me.

I decided upon the WD My Cloud. What swayed me was my familiarity with the brand and it's apparent simplicity. Big mistake as I was unable to connect it to my network. It has been returned to Amazon for a refund. Looking back I had problems connecting my original one and even more so when they updated the firmware. I have never experienced difficulties connecting devices to the network except for the Chord Poly many years ago which was returned because of a compatability issue with my Sky router.

I was originally put off the UGREEN as it seemed a bit complex with a need to install drivers. After reading up on it and watching You Tube videos there does not seem to be anything I can't get my head around and I pressed the button. What it offers puts the My Cloud in the shade and it seems better value even with the additional cost of drives. I have two 3TB WD ones on order. Will have to wait for the NAS, from the manufacturer as Amazon without Prime for this item is a rip off. It won't be available until the day I go to Corfu next week but will be dispatched as soon as I am back. Qobuz for the time being as my NAS has completely given up the ghost. All my music is well backed up.

Hope the new NAS installation goes smoothly.

I upgraded to the WD MyCoud EX2 with 6TB storage, been running for a couple of years now and never any trouble.
